American war zone

Even while various American politicians seek to carry the fight against the evil actions of The Donald and the fascist Republican Party, the deep state warns us of a war zone just across the Rio Grande from Texas.

Welcome to Tamaulipas State. Or rather, don’t go there.

So says the State Department, which has listed the state of Tamaulipas as a level 4, the same designation used for active war zones.

People are warned, if they must go:

• Avoid dirt roads. Stay on paved roads.
• Do not touch unknown objects on or near roads.
• Plan travel during daylight hours
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Notify friends and family of your safety.

Why? The cartels are waging war against those parts of Mexican governments that they (the individual cartels) do not control or are not allied with. And against each other. And so they shoot up anyone and everyone. And they plant IEDs on the roads.

Like much of Texas and New Mexico, many roads in the State are not paved: they are “dirt” (which includes gravel, FYI.) And mines and other devices are being planted on them. Mines, at least those which are not command-detonated, are infamously indiscriminate in what and who they target.

Is it any wonder that the “new sheriff in town” is not ruling out using American military force against the cartels? Even though the biggest allies and backers and financial support of the drug cartels are Americans themselves?

What?

Who buys the fentanyl and other recreational drugs that the cartels produce or buy and transport and sell? Who pays for the labor provided by the border jumpers that the cartels facilitate crossing the Rio Grande?

Sadly, sickeningly, it is Americans – American individuals and families and businesses. (Yes, and government agencies.) Now, few if any Americans are forced to use fentanyl as a non-medical drug. Ditto for hiring laborers or other workers. Very few. The same can’t be said, of course, for Americans who are forced to pay taxes that are used to provide social services to those border jumpers brought by coyotes to the lands of opportunity. Nor for the medical services necessary and provided by stealing from taxpayers to deal with the injuries and deaths caused by drug abuse and the relatively few who commit crimes other than trespassing and lying about their presence.

The American people once again demonstrate that they are their own enemies in so many ways.

And government, of course, both Federal and State, facilitate this self-abuse. Especally in the last few decades. Indeed, this war and the risk of it spreading into the States – not just Texas – is the direct result of the FedGov and State governments’ stupidity for decades: attempting to fight a war (that was not) on some drugs and imposition of regulations and actions that deny fundamental God-given rights of humans. (But these are matters to discuss separately, in the interests of time.)

Which is why military action by itself will not end the threat of these cartels and their serving the American market. Government is NOT the solution to government. And for government to try and control markets is just a path to more and more problems.

The American market must be changed: one person, one family, one business at a time. NOT by government action, but by teaching and holding people accountable for their moral and immoral activities. It isn’t about politics or about war, even though those are all affected. It is about teaching and accepting responsibility for our actions.

All the combat troops in the world will not solve it. And in the meantime, we need to be prepared for the war in Mexico to once again expand into the States.
