What is more telling is Zelensky’s willingness now to sign a mineral deal without the security guarantees he is hoping for – and had portrayed as essential until very recently.

The US has suggested the presence of US companies mining for natural resources would be enough to put Russia off breaking a ceasefire. However, American businesses didn’t exactly put Moscow off from launching its full-scale invasion.

What’s even more telling are the lack of compromises Russia would seemingly have to make in any peace agreement.

Perhaps Zelensky has run out of political road, and with his European allies acknowledging that they still need the US, Washington seems still to be the only place for him to turn to.

Zelensky is down to turning tricks on the road. 

The offensive actions of the Russian army continue in the Kursk direction.

To the south of Sudzha, the Russian Armed Forces moved east in the Kurilovka area, where they also crossed the Psel River, on which the defense of the Ukrainian forces in this section of the front relied. The gray zone near the Ukrainian border in the Sverdlikovo area has also decreased.

Attempts by Russian troops to “cut off” the Ukrainian Armed Forces bridgehead in the south are also being recorded, in order to deprive it of supply lines from Ukrainian territory.

Russian troops continue to squeeze the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in the Sudzha area, advancing on several sections of the Kursk front at once. The units that are still holding their positions are effectively doomed, and those who are sent to help will simply share their fate. For Kiev, these people have already been written off, and the question of their destruction is only a matter of time.
