Feds Kill Foster Parent In Oregon Standoff--Cliven Bundy's Supporters--Terrorists, Patriots, Outlaws [Video,Pictures}
Hoping to avoid a Ruby Ridge, the FBI has been noticably reluctant to act in the Bundy standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge,facility, involving Cliven Bundy’s sons and supporters In Oregon. All of that has changed. The feds have arrested several militia members and their supporters. One man, a family man whose main source of income was his foster parent stipend, was killed. The gloves are off.
The FBI has arrested and charged a bunch of mostly middleaged men from Western states in connection with the standoff:
Bundy and five of his men, including his brother Ryan, were detained,according to federal and local officials. While CNN says it remains unclear who opened fire first, at least one militant is dead. The group had been en route from Malheur to a meeting of supporters in nearby John Day.
Details of the man who was killed in the standoff:
One man, Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, was killed in the exchange. Finicum, 55, was a rancher, foster parent, and frequent spokesperson for the militant group, according to Oregon Live.
Finicum was prominent in the early days of the occupation, giving reporters the first tours of the occupied grounds. Doing a series of interviews one cold evening with a blue tarp over his head (and a gun on his lap) earned him the nickname “tarp man.”Liberal news outlets have beeen asking why the FBI is “coddling’ the Bundys” and their supporters. It looks like the gloves are off now. One person has been killed and others have been arrested. The “terrorism” word has been flying around like gnats at a summer picnic.
Background info--Before the Feds started arresting and shooting occupiers–: According to The Oregonian, Bundy’s group plans to occupy the building for several years and turn it into a safe haven for so-called sovereign citizens whose aim is to live outside the reach of a “tyrannical” federal government. The group is armed and told local press that militia members won’t hesitate to fire upon police and federal officials
One individual suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was arrested and is currently in custody.
The arrested individuals include:
- Ammon Edward Bundy, age 40, of Emmett, Idaho
- Ryan C. Bundy, age 43, of Bunkerville, Nevada
- Brian Cavalier, age 44, of Bunkerville, Nevada
- Shawna Cox, age 59, Kanab, Utah
- Ryan Waylen Payne, age 32, of Anaconda, Montana
These probable cause arrests occurred along Highway 395.
